The events of the last several days are truly tragic and have catapulted our country into a national crisis. I know that many of you are deeply affected by what is happening in regions across our country, including in many places where you live and work. I am too. I empathize with your sense of frustration, sadness and disappointment. I don’t believe the actions we are seeing are representative of who we want to be as citizens or as a country. There is clearly a lack of trust, and for there to be progress, there must be trust.
